A stage village is a village of 5000 inhabitants less
situated unless 5 km or 5 minutes of the exit of a motorway
or a free expressway.
The stage village endeavour to keep its character of village.

It provides road users with a vast
number of services which are adapted to everyone's
needs :
- shops (bakery, butcher's, grocer's, press)
- restaurants to discove culinary tradition of
each village
- listed hotels for a rest with an easy mind
- a tourist office two stars
- a picnic area fit out and shaded
- and so on ....

The stage village promises a welcome of
quality. Indeed, the label of "Village
Etape" is awarded by the equipment's ministry to
the commons which respect a charter of quality
very demanding in term of service and welcome.
"Village Etape" is also a tourist attraction and
brings a new economic run-up to the commons.

Today, 21 stage villages are in 8 regions, 13 areas
and 8 trunk roads.

with the development of the steps "Village Etape".
It fixed 3 missions : the representation of "Village
Etape", the respect for the quality of services
and the "Village Etape" Network's development.
